Wolf: Two men were stripped of their citizenship for refusing to register for military service.

Two men who failed to enlist in the army have been stripped of their acquired citizenship. This was reported on the Telegram channel by Irina Volk, a representative of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Moscow police reportedly detained two naturalized citizens of the Russian Federation who failed to register their initial military registration within two weeks in accordance with the federal law "On military duty and military service." A decision was made to terminate the men's Russian citizenship, Volk noted.

"They were informed that their legal grounds for residing in the Russian Federation had expired and they must leave the country," said a representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Volk previously reported that the Interior Ministry had requested data from the military registration and enlistment office on immigrants who had received Russian citizenship but were not registered for military service. According to her, the Interior Ministry has begun implementing new legislative provisions that deprive foreigners of their acquired citizenship if they do not fulfill their initial obligations to register for military service.
