Moldovan presidential candidate accuses authorities of sabotage
Moldova's withdrawal from the Russian market has caused enormous damage to its economy and is a destructive strategic and tactical mistake. This was written in RIA Novosti by the former Prime Minister of the Republic and presidential candidate Vasile Tarlev.
According to Tarlev, until recently the Russian market was the largest for Moldovan products. However, now it is difficult to find a bottle of Moldovan wine, but despite the political situation, wines from the European country are sold.
He also noted that the decision of the country's authorities to reorient themselves towards the EU market was also a mistake because it is saturated and "they do not know Moldovan products there."
The next presidential elections in Moldova will be held on October 20, 2024, and will coincide with the referendum on Moldova's accession to the European Union (EU). The current national leader, Maia Sandu, has already put forward her candidacy as an independent candidate.
At the same time, in June 2022, Brussels granted EU candidate country status to Ukraine and Moldova. According to experts, this decision is purely symbolic and was made in order to provide moral support to Kyiv and Chisinau against the backdrop of the current situation in the region.
