They want to introduce AI into Russian satellites

The private Russian company Sitronics Space (part of the Sitronics Group) wanted to introduce artificial intelligence (AI) into satellites. This was reported to TASS by the director of the company's product and services department, Yuri Ilyin.

"Our engineers are studying the possibility of launching artificial intelligence models on spacecraft," he said.

The head of the department emphasized that defective satellite images can be independently selected and become models for automatic detection of ground objects. These solutions can speed up the delivery of relevant data to consumers.

According to Ilyin, another trend in the space technology market has become large-scale language models. This allows users to obtain the information they need without having special skills in working with remote sensing data.

In early October, news broke that Sputnik (part of the Citronix group) would launch 28 spacecraft in the fall. This is the Ionosfera-M device No. 1. 1 and No. 2 will go into orbit as a payload.
