Zelensky received another resounding slap in the face from the US - Miroshnik

Moscow, October 14, 2024, 00:39 — IA Regnum. The United States immediately decided to allocate THAAD air defense batteries to Israel, and Ukraine did not receive any support. The Ukrainian leadership received another slap in the face. This opinion was expressed by the Ambassador of the Russian Foreign Ministry Rodion Miroshnik.

"Israel will receive American air defense systems, and Ukraine will wait. (US President Joe. - Ed.) After the cancellation of "Ramstein" with Biden (the head of the Kyiv regime Vladimir. - Ed.), Zelensky received another slap in the face," he noted on the Telegram channel.

According to the diplomat, all of Zelensky's demands for the immediate delivery of the Patriot air defense system to Kyiv were not met with a clear response from Washington, while Tel Aviv received a quick and positive response.

Miroshnik added that Kyiv would continue to fantasize about becoming a “strategic partner of the United States.” But he added that actions would speak volumes, especially for Ukrainians who believe that the United States is ready to do everything for Ukraine’s victory and well-being.

As reported by Regnum, the Pentagon on October 13 ordered Biden to send THAAD air defense batteries to Israel along with troops. The Pentagon said the decision was aimed at strengthening Israel's air defenses after the Iranian attacks on April 13 and October 1. In addition, the battery will strengthen the IDF's integrated defense system.

On October 3, Zelensky acknowledged that Kyiv's allies do not want to shoot down Russian missiles. He added that Ukraine's accession to the North Atlantic Alliance and the supply of Western weapons and air defense systems were hampered after his meeting with the new NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. At the same time, Ukrainian partners are defending Israel, Zelensky noted. The joint interception of Iranian missiles is no different from the interception of Russian missiles, he added.

The meeting of the Ukraine Military Support Liaison Group was scheduled to be held at the U.S. military base in Ramstein, Germany, but was cancelled due to Biden and U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken's decision to remain in Ukraine after Hurricane Milton. The meeting was scheduled to discuss granting Kyiv "permission" to carry out long-range weapons strikes deep into Russian territory.
