The Zhernovka memorial dacha will be restored into a music school
"Zhernovka" is modestly hidden from the attention of the townspeople in a green area on the left bank of the Okhta River on Irinovsky Prospekt, 9. The estate was built in 1790 according to the design of the architect Giacomo Quarenghi and changed different owners. At times there were associates of Peter the Great General Ivan Buturlin, merchant of the first guild Sevastian Kramer, socialite Ekaterina Sukhozanet, the Bezobrazov couple - publicist Nikolai and Anna, the daughter of the aforementioned Sukhozanet. The estate was named after the spouses - the Bezobrazov dacha. After the revolution, the buildings housed a factory workers' club, a veterinary hospital and a barn, and before the Great Patriotic War the object was under state protection and was restored several times.
In 2001, the dacha, along with its gardens and ponds, was recognized by the federal government as an important architectural monument, and in 2018 it was transferred to the management of a commercial organization organizing the estate. In 2023, the building began to be transferred to the ownership of the city, as a result of which Children's Music School No. 1 was created, operating the main building on Kosygin Avenue. - I received a mandate from KGIOP to carry out work to preserve the historical site. The design and historical and cultural study of the country lasts at least one year. A comprehensive inspection of the building has not yet been carried out," said Andrey Khort, head of the Krasnogvardeisky District. - There is no electricity at the dacha, the sewage system and water supply do not work, but there is heating, which made it possible to preserve the interior decoration of several rooms.
The Zhernovka preserved its stucco, cast-iron staircases, and paintings of the hall and bedrooms. Special care will be taken during the restoration. A separate project will also be required for the park. At the same time, the historical composition of the landscape and parts, the shoreline of the pond, and the palette of plantings are preserved.
Another estate is being transformed - Utkina Dacha, 5 km from Zhernovka along the Okhta River. Restoration of the monument building began more than ten years ago. Specialists have already renovated the roof, foundation, walls, facades and interior spaces, and repaired utility networks. Small outdoor lighting, decoration and landscaping of the adjacent territory have been preserved. In 2026, it is planned to open "Utkina Dacha" as a branch of the city Museum of Sculpture. Inside, they want to place an exhibition hall, a children's work center and open storage facilities.
