Deputy Mironov asked to check the idea of a tax on childlessness for extremism

He called on law enforcement agencies to carefully study such ideas and the consequences of their implementation.

The head of the party "A Just Russia - For Truth" Sergei Mironov expressed concern about the introduction of a tax on childlessness and called for a thorough check of the plan for the presence of extremist elements.

He noted that such demographic proposals could open the way for more radical and dangerous ideas that could border on extremism. Mironov stressed that law enforcement agencies should pay attention to such plans in order to prevent their further development, RIA Novosti reports.

As an example, he cited a recent statement by Alexey Zubets, director of the Institute of Social and Economic Research at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation. He proposed introducing a tax of 30-40 thousand rubles per month for childless families. Mironov expressed hope that experienced financiers would not support such an idea, noting that "the demographic issue of some sick hearts is turning into a real threat bordering on cannibalism."

Earlier, State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin also warned legislators against such erroneous plans as introducing taxes on childlessness, emphasizing the importance of adopting regulations to counteract the propaganda of refusing to have children. Volodin focused on demographic problems and the need for a rational approach to preserving family values.
