A man who killed a woman for earrings in 2001 will be tried in St. Petersburg
The Kirov District Court of St. Petersburg will hear the case of a 46-year-old resident of the Leningrad Region, accused of murdering a woman in house No. 10/7 on Dalniy Prospekt. The motive was gold earrings. This was reported by the media of the city prosecutor's office.

According to the investigation, from May 12 to 13, 2001, the suspect, who was in house No. 10/7 on Dachny Prospekt, followed a woman who was returning from a walk with her dog. The man noticed a gold earring in her ear. He walked with it to the entrance and then into the elevator.
The accused took advantage of the moment when the victim was trying to open the door of the apartment and attacked her, hitting her head hard on the concrete floor. He then grabbed the victim by the legs and dragged her into an empty apartment.
Having made sure that no one was watching his actions, the accused took a gold earring out of the woman's ear and began searching the apartment. Noticing that the victim was beginning to come to her senses, he suddenly stopped, tied her hands with leather belts, covered her head with his coat, slammed the door and disappeared from the scene.
The woman died at the scene of the crime as a result of her injuries. The identity of the accused was confirmed by fingerprints.
