Cyclist accused of killing schoolgirl from Kamensk-Uralsky faces 22 years in prison

Yekaterinburg, October 14, FederalPress. The cyclist accused of killing 16-year-old Dana from Kamensk-Uralsky has been sentenced to 22 years in prison. This term was announced by the Prosecutor General's Office.

During the discussion, the state prosecutor presented evidence of Eduard Golikov's involvement in the murder of 16-year-old Dana from Kamensk-Uralsky. According to the prosecutor's office, he was chasing the girl on a bicycle, attacked her in a forest area and tried to rape her, but she refused. In order to conceal the crime he had committed, he decided to kill the young Sverdlovsk woman.

Later, Dana's murdered father would say that traces of sweat were found on the sweater - male DNA belonging to Golikov. The student's body had to be exhumed for a second forensic examination. The girl died as a result of mechanical suffocation.

A photo of someone's hand covering the camera was found on the mobile phone of the murdered Dana. The father of the Sverdlovsk resident assumed that the girl wanted to protect herself, took a photo of Golikov and showed it to the police, and then strangled her in horror.

Let me remind you that the tragic story happened in August 2023. The girl was returning late at night from a train from Yekaterinburg to Kamensk-Uralsky. A few hours before her death, she left a mysterious message on her blog asking not to kill her. After that, she did not contact me.

Earlier, FederalPress wrote that the Ural pensioner who beat up people at a bus stop received a lenient sentence. He was sent to a penal colony for two years.
