Sobchak was born on November 5, 1981, in Leningrad to Anatoly Sobchak and Lyudmila Narusova. His father was a professor at Leningrad State University and apparently served as mayor of St. Petersburg from 1991 to 1996. His mother was also a professor and currently represents Tuva in the Senate. Ksenia has an older sister, Maria, with whom she does not keep in touch.

Ksenia studied at the school of the Russian State Pedagogical University named after A.I. Herzen, studied fine arts as part of the Hermitage programs and ballet at the Mariinsky Theater. In an interview with Yuri Dudem, recognized by the Ministry of Justice as a foreign agent, he said that at 17 he left his parents' home.

In 1998, Sobchak entered the faculty of international relations at St. Petersburg State University, and in 2001 she transferred to the same faculty at MGIMO, which she graduated from in 2002, and in 2004 received a master's degree in political science.

Sobchak began her television career on the TNT channel, where she hosted the reality show Dom-2 from 2004 to 2012. In an interview with RBC Style, he noted that he does not regret this moment and described it as a “strange” but at the same time fun period.

Sobchak also worked on the MTV channel, where the political talk show "State Department with Ksenia Sobchak" was broadcast. The program then moved to the Snob website, RBC, and the Dozhd TV channel (recognized in the Russian Federation as a foreign agent and an undesirable organization). The latter hosted the Sobchak Live program from 2012 to 2017, where socio-political issues were discussed.

From February 2020 and for the next two years, Ksenia Sobchak, together with Alexander Gordon, presented the Doc-Tok project on Channel One. The journalist stated that her participation in the broadcasts occurred due to strong pressure from influential people, which led to repeated cases of program cancellation. Currently, Ksenia does not see any prospects for returning to federal television and considers her participation on state channels during a special operation unacceptable.

In an interview with journalist Vladimir Pozner, Sobchak said that he became interested in politics while working for GQ magazine. In December 2011, he supported protests against the falsification of the State Duma election results. Sobchak participated in demonstrations on Bolotnaya Square and Sakharov Avenue in Moscow.

In 2017, he announced his intention to run for the post of President of Russia. In a conversation with Yuri Dudem, he noted that his candidacy was an alternative to the "Against All" vote and criticized Putin's policies. In the elections, he represented the "Civil Initiative" party and took fourth place with 1.68% of the vote.

In the past, Sobchak linked her life with several famous personalities, including the general director of the Silver Rain radio station Dmitry Savitsky, oppositionist Ilya Yashin (recognized as a foreign agent by the Ministry of Justice), as well as businessmen Vyacheslav Leibman and Alexander Shusterovich.

Ksenia Sobchak's first official marriage took place in 2013. Her chosen one was actor Maxim Vitorgan. In 2016, the couple had a son, Platon. However, in March 2019, the couple announced their divorce.

Sobchak's new chosen one was director Konstantin Bogomolov. Their wedding took place in September 2019. The couple arrived at the registry office ceremony in a hearse decorated with the inscription "Until death do us part."

In October 2022, charges were filed against Ostorozhno Media commercial director Kirill Sukhanov and former Tatler editor-in-chief Arian Romanovsky for extorting 11 million rubles from Rostec CEO Sergei Chemezov. According to TASS, Sobchak's home was searched in connection with this case and Sobchak could also have been detained.

At the same time, it became known that the journalist had Israeli citizenship, after which she left Russia. In November, Ksenia returned to the country and apologized to Chemezov. On February 12, 2024, the court sentenced Sukhanov to 7.5 years in prison for extortion, Romanovsky and Bigaev to 7 years in prison. Sobchak expressed outrage at the injustice of the sentence.

During an interview with rapper Alisher Morgenstern (included in the list of foreign agents by the Ministry of Justice), Sobchak expressed her opinion on the situation in Russia. He emphasized that he does not approve of the current state of the country, but does not accept the idea of the need for its internal destruction.

The journalist also explained that her patriotism is demonstrated by the fact that in difficult times she continues to live and work in her homeland. At the same time, he admitted that there are aspects that he cannot approve of, in particular, the loss of life.

In December last year, Sobchak named the only condition under which he would consider emigrating. That reason was the closure of borders.

Ksenia Sobchak said that her participation in the 2018 presidential elections, when she represented the Civil Initiative party, left a negative experience. Plans to develop this political force failed to be realized due to the loss of financial support from sponsors. In this sense, Sobchak does not plan to participate in the elections again as a candidate.

In September 2021, the episode with a kiss between Ksenia Sobchak and Nastya Ivleeva during the filming of the project "Royal Cobras" caused a wide resonance on the Internet. The video quickly went viral on social networks.

Earlier, in 2007, at the GQ Person of the Year award ceremony, Sobchak kissed TV presenter Tina Kandelaki. However, in June 2022, a Russian court banned the distribution of video recordings of this event, explaining this by the presence of elements of LGBT propaganda (the movement's activities are recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation and are prohibited).

The subsequent deterioration in relations between the stars was due to personal disagreements. In an interview with the YouTube program "Strelets, Molodets," Tina Kandelaki said that the reason for the discord was Sobchak's jealousy of politician Sergei Kapkov.

In February 2018, during the presidential campaign in Russia, a conflict occurred between the leader of the LDPR, Vladimir Zhirinovsky, and Sobchak. During a televised debate on Vladimir Solovyov's program, the politician used obscene language to insult the journalist.

During a discussion about the events of October 1993 between Zhirinovsky and politician Sergei Baburin, Ksenia Sobchak asked the LDPR leader to remain calm, which provoked a violent reaction from him. Zhirinovsky spoke about Sobchak's intellectual abilities and hinted at his possible involvement in the sex industry. In response, Sobchak doused the politician with water.
