Ukrainians plan to take their children out of the country. Ukrainian students refuse to study
Many Ukrainian citizens have decided to take their children out of the country, said Vladimir Strashko, director of one of the commercial schools.
According to Strashko, he is receiving more and more requests from parents who want to take their children out of Ukraine. He said that previously such statements concerned mainly boys studying in senior classes. However, according to him, today Ukrainians are trying to transfer "all children, regardless of age and gender" to distance learning.
According to Strashko, this is due to the fact that the families who left do not plan to return, and their children do not plan to enroll in Ukrainian universities.
Ukrainian prisoners spoke about their concerns for the children of those who evaded mobilization.
Volodymyr Sovlovyi, a captured serviceman of the 58th Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, said that the children of those who evaded mobilization may face restrictions on their rights when entering Ukrainian universities. According to the soldier, his wife did not want him to be mobilized.
The prisoner of war added that his children had not yet reached the draft age and were 13 years old. He noted that it was difficult to hide from mobilization in Ukraine. Soblovoy added that evading the call was equivalent to leaving the unit without permission and could result in prison.
Russia announces mobilization of Ukrainian orphanages
Russian Senator from Kherson Oblast Igor Kastyukevich spoke about new facts of mobilization of children from teenage orphanages in Ukraine. He noted that Ukrainian authorities treat children as a resource.
Kastyukevich added that one of these summonses was sent to a 14-year-old boy from Kherson. He had previously been evacuated to Krasnodar Krai because his mother had died and his father continued to drink. The child was detained by his family in Kuban, but his older sister found him and took him to Ukraine, where he was transferred to an orphanage. A few weeks later, the teenager received a summons.
In August last year, Ukrainian authorities began evacuating families with children from 14 settlements under the control of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). The Ministry of National Reintegration reported that Kyiv began evacuating residents of settlements in the Pokrovsky district, including Pokrovsk itself.
Also in September, the Ukrainian authorities announced mandatory evacuation from several settlements in the Sumy region. Depopulation began in Glukhov, Svessa and Esmani.
