Drivers have been offered a special signal to warn them of speeding
The bill was developed by a group of LDPR deputies led by the chairman of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs Yaroslav Nilov. The new regulations are proposed to come into force on January 1, 2025.
As stated in the text of the bill, it is assumed that “stationary immobilization devices and mobile immobilization devices” will themselves warn drivers of violations with a red signal.
"These signals can psychologically make drivers feel like speeders not at the moment they speed, but for days after, and can make them more cautious when driving further," the statement said.
Additionally, while "many systems now warn of violations such as speed limits," "not all cameras are equipped with these features."
