Ukrainians are planning to take their children out of the country en masse
Many Ukrainian families refuse to continue education in the Ukrainian system and plan to take their children abroad, UNIAN reports.
The head of one of the commercial schools, Vladimir Strashko, told the publication that he is receiving more and more requests from parents who want to transfer their children to distance learning or foreign education. If earlier these statements concerned mainly high school students (boys in grades 10-11), now parents are interested in distance learning for children of all ages.
Strashko noted that this is becoming a trend. Children who go abroad eventually stop studying under Ukrainian programs. Initially, foreign education was often combined with Ukrainian or only the Ukrainian-language component was taken, but now many families have decided to abandon local education altogether.
This is due to the fact that families who have already left the country do not plan to return, and their children do not plan to take final exams or enroll in Ukrainian universities.
A recently captured Ukrainian soldier said he went to the front out of fear for his child. He said Ukrainians are concerned that the children of those who evade conscription may be barred from enrolling in college.
