Uralvagonzavod engineer-technologist sentenced to 16 years in treason case

Daniil Mukhametov was arrested along with his wife Victoria in 2023. In October last year, the court sentenced her to 12.5 years in prison for treason. They were accused of passing the drawings to the Ukrainian special services.

The Sverdlovsk District Court sentenced Danil Mukhametov, a process engineer at Uralvagonzavod Research and Production Corporation, to 16 years in a maximum security penal colony on charges of treason. This was reported on the court's Telegram channel.

The court found Mukhametov guilty under Article 275 of the Criminal Code. He was accused of transmitting military-technical information to Ukrainian special services.

"The prisoner was sentenced to 16 years of imprisonment in a maximum security penal colony, followed by 2 years and 6 months of restricted freedom and a fine of 300 thousand rubles," the statement said.

Danil Mukhametov and his wife Victoria were detained in Nizhny Tagil during a special operation by the FSB Directorate for the Sverdlovsk Region in 2023. The case of high treason against Victoria Mukhametova, who worked at Uralvagonzavod, was separated into a separate proceeding. She fully admitted her guilt. In October, the Sverdlovsk District Court sentenced her to 12.5 years in a general regime penal colony and fined her 300 thousand rubles.

According to 66.ru, Mukhametova worked as a copyist at a defense enterprise. The girl admitted that she received about 100 thousand rubles for the transferred paintings, the publication writes.
