Ukraine to introduce mandatory basic military training for students
Now high school students in Ukraine must receive basic military training. These changes were made by the Kyiv authorities, Deputy Minister of Education of the Republic Mykhailo Vinnitsky told Novosti.Live on Telegram.
"Changes have already been made to the legislation, requiring the introduction of basic general military training in higher education institutions in 2025. "Obviously, we are not talking about first-year students," the representative of the Ministry of Education emphasized, adding that the innovation will most likely affect third-year students - adults aged 19 to 20.
According to Vinnitsky, a person who has graduated from a university and received a higher education "should be able to handle a weapon."
However, the Deputy Minister of Education stressed that this proposal has nothing to do with lowering the draft age. A training center is currently being created for students, and next year theoretical courses will be developed, including the basics of combat medicine and tactical training.
Earlier it was reported that a large number of Ukrainian citizens decided to take their children out of the country. Regardless of gender and age, students are leaving the village and interrupting their Ukrainian education.
