Snowfall Extent Predicted in Russia
According to weather forecasters, the entire Far East and Siberia will be covered with snow, with the exception of the south of Western Siberia, the Altai Territory, the Northwestern and Central Federal Districts. But this weekend the snow will gradually begin to melt, meteorologists warned. In the European part of Russia, the snow cover will melt on November 7-8, according to Vilfand's forecast.
Earlier, the head of the Meteorological Forecasting Center, Alexander Shuvalov, said that reliable snow cover in Moscow would not appear before December. Before that, snowdrifts of 3 to 5 cm in height could accumulate in the capital region, but they should disappear on November 7 due to warming.
Earlier, Yevgeny Tishkovets, an expert at the Phobos meteorological center, noted that the record amount of precipitation in Moscow amounted to 55% of the monthly norm.
