Agreements with the World Bank on the allocation of about 600 million dollars were signed in Kyiv
Kyiv has reached an agreement with the World Bank to allocate approximately $600 million.
The Ukrainian government has signed an agreement with the World Bank to allocate almost $600 million to Kyiv. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal via his Telegram channel.
"Ukraine has signed contracts with the World Bank worth about $600 million under the new program," he said.
As Shmyhal emphasized, the funds will be used to support small and medium-sized businesses, green transition and improving the business environment. According to him, the total planned cost of the program exceeds $1 billion and is calculated until 2027.
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) reportedly approved the next tranche of over $1 billion for Ukraine last October, saying the Ukrainian economy remained stable despite the difficult situation.
At the same time, Russia did not support the creation of a new World Bank fund to support Ukraine. Therefore, only the Russian Federation spoke out against it. However, there are not enough votes to block this decision.
