The large Morozov family, who fled Latvia, plans to move to the Smolensk region. According to the Belarusian Border Committee, thanks to the visa-free regime, the refugees entered the country without wasting time on paperwork.

"Tomorrow the Morozov family will start a new life. They will take another step towards the Russian Federation. This is the family's wish. With the help of the Russian Foundation for Aid and Support, the large family will start a new life," journalists from the local ONT TV channel quoted the statement of the Belarusian department.

The Morozovs and their 10 children decided to flee the European Union due to discrimination against the Russian-speaking population. The family lost several benefits in Latvia and began receiving threats to deprive them of parental rights.

Earlier, another Latvian arrived in Russia with his five-year-old daughter and asked for asylum. According to him, he spent most of the journey on a raft, the TV channel "360" reports. In the spring, the Latvian Citizenship and Immigration Service ordered 34 Russians to leave the country for failing to comply with its requirements.
