Details of the accident in which a truck killed two people on the M-4 "Don" highway in the Voronezh region have become known.
The police have completed the investigation of a criminal case that began with a truck crash that took the lives of two people, the regional police department reported.
Let me remind you that it all happened on July 14. The 28-year-old driver of a Volkswagen Transporter stopped on the side of the road and got out of the car together with his 25-year-old passenger. He wanted to fill up his car with gas. At that moment, a Volvo truck was driving in the right lane. The driver of the road train did not have time to brake and hit the pedestrian. One of the victims died on the spot, the second died during transportation in an ambulance.
Representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs came to the conclusion that the road train was in good condition. The driver of the truck was a 57-year-old resident of St. Petersburg.
According to the provisions on traffic violations that resulted in the death of two people (clause 5 of Article 264), the defendant may be sentenced to imprisonment for up to seven years. The case has been sent to court for consideration.
