Vice-Governor Korabelnikov: There are no problems with metro construction in St. Petersburg

Deputy Governor Alexey Korabelnikov said that there are currently no problems with the construction of the St. Petersburg metro. The statement was made during a meeting of the Legislative Council, at which the official presented a bill on budget reconciliation for 2024.

During the discussion of the amendments, the leader of the "A Just Russia - For Truth" faction Marina Shishkina asked why 5.5 billion rubles were removed from the expenses for the development of transport infrastructure. As the vice-governor explained, the money is intended for the construction of the metro, but officials do not consider it necessary to allocate it to the northern capital's "Metrostroy" before the end of the year.

He also assured that this will not affect the delivery times at metro stations. The budget draft significantly increases the amount that will be spent on metro construction. In the next three years, they plan to spend more than 170 billion rubles.

Earlier, 78.ru wrote that two stations of the St. Petersburg metro - "Park Pobedy" and "Elektrosila" - will not be included in the list of confirmed cultural heritage sites.
