Putin visited fencing center in Ufa
As reported by the Kremlin's Telegram channel, the opening of the center took place in a ceremonial atmosphere, and on the same day, the international fencing competition "Salabat Sabre" began.
The decision to build the center was made in 2021, after the completion of the Olympic Games in Tokyo. Bashkiria has many famous fencers, including Olympic and Paralympic athletes, which became one of the factors in the creation of a modern complex.
The fencing center is located on an area of more than 6.2 million square meters and can accommodate 250 people at a time. It includes universal and professional halls for training and competitions, sports halls, gyms, recreation rooms with swimming pools, workshops for repairing weapons and equipment, conference halls for holding events.
On Thursday, President Vladimir Putin arrived in Ufa; his previous visit to Bashkiria took place in January 2023.
