The number of cross-border transfers has increased 7 times
From January to September, the number of all international transfers by VTB retail clients reached a record level of 1.3 million, which is seven times more than in the same period in 2023. Over nine months, the volume of cross-border transfers by retail clients increased by 1.5 times compared to the same period last year, exceeding 33 billion rubles. The average bill for a transfer is now 25,000 rubles.
More than 80% of all international money transfers were made by retail clients using phone numbers. Over the year, the share of these tasks increased by an average of 1.7 times. Over the year, the bank's clients transferred 15,000 rubles abroad using phone numbers, this figure increased by 31%. Transfers using bank accounts make up only 2% of the total volume and are mainly chosen to pay for large purchases or services abroad.
We see that the number of retail clients transferring funds to other countries is increasing every year. They perform about 200,000 transactions every month. "We continue to develop our own international payment system, "building bridges" with new countries," said Georgy Gorshkov.
