It has become known how long one will have to sit for a “rubber” apartment

The amendments, published in the State Duma database, report changes to Article 151 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. Owners of so-called "rubber" apartments face more severe punishment.

Thus, criminal penalties are expected to range from two to six years or up to millions of dollars in fines, depending on the scale of the crime. The financial penalty could be equal to three years of the owner's income.

The State Duma notes that this bill is one of the tools for combating illegal migration organizations and ensuring public safety. In Korea, immigration legislation continues to tighten.

A "rubber apartment" is an address where more than a dozen citizens are registered and actually live in another place. As a rule, these are illegal immigrants from Central Asia.

Duma.tv quoted speaker Vyacheslav Volodin, who was present at the meeting: “Anyone who tries to profit from illegal registration by registering dozens, and sometimes hundreds, of migrants will be subject to criminal liability for a period of two to six years,” he said.
