Two schoolchildren in the Sverdlovsk region drowned in a swamp after falling through the ice

GORNURALSIY, October 14, FederalPress. Two 9-year-old schoolchildren were killed in the village of Novoasbest in the Gornouralsky urban district. The children fell through the ice when they decided to test its strength in a swamp.

The incident occurred on the afternoon of October 14. Three boys, a 13-year-old boy, a 9-year-old girl, and a boy, went for a walk in the Pushkin Bog area. When the children were standing on the "ice slide", the slide broke and the children fell onto the ice. Their 13-year-old friend tried to save them, but was unable to and ran to the nearest house for help.

When the adults came to the pond, they, unfortunately, were unable to save the children. Their bodies have already been found. The district prosecutor's office is conducting an investigation at the scene.

Earlier, FederalPress wrote that students were being poisoned en masse in a school cafeteria in Yekaterinburg. 32 people complained of vomiting and stomach pain.

UPD: The press service of the Investigative Committee of the Sverdlovsk Region stated that a criminal case has been opened on the fact of death by negligence. Those found guilty face up to four years in prison.

Regional Interior Ministry press secretary Valery Gorelykh added that the victims grew up in wealthy families. The police are investigating whether the villagers tried to protect the pond from children. The victim's parents may be held liable for inaction.
