"Joker: Madness Between Two" Sets Anti-Record for Box Office among Comic Book Movies
The box office receipts for the film "Joker: Madness Between Two" in the US for the second weekend amounted to $7.055 million, Deadline reports, citing data from Warner Bros.
The show had the worst second weekend of release for an animated film, down 81% from its first weekend. However, its total box office receipts for both weekends reached 51.6 million units in the U.S. and 165.3 million units worldwide.
Previously, many critics called the new part of the Joker story the worst adaptation of the comic book. In particular, blogger Evgeny Bazhenov (BadComedian) in a conversation with "Moscow 24" said that fans of the first part will find it especially hard to watch the sequel. In his opinion, the film destroys all the achievements of its predecessor and "doesn't give a damn about the original script."
