Expert explains which messages are dangerous to open in WhatsApp

Users of electronic devices who are unable to read messages received on their devices in WhatsApp Messenger may end up paying a lot of money for this.

Internet security expert Shamil Magomedov warned about this, DEITA.RU news agency reports.

As the expert explains, any message you receive from a stranger via the popular Russian app can be dangerous. The biggest danger when reading is the so-called "gifs", that is, messages containing repeating parts of video and text files and links.

If a scammer tricks someone into opening a WhatsApp message containing malicious content, they can install spyware on their smartphone or other electronic device, which will then gain access to the apps they have installed. Prime writes that there is only one way to protect yourself from such attacks:

According to him, if it is already clear from the preview of the message in the app that it contains similar files or links, it is better not to open it at all. You can simply delete these messages in WhatsApp and mark them as spam. According to experts, only these radical methods can protect against hacking.
