Man arrested on suspicion of desecrating 30 gravestones in Penza region
In the Penza region, a man has been detained by police on suspicion of damaging about 30 tombstones in a cemetery, the press service of the regional police department reports.
According to the Main Directorate of Internal Affairs, on October 9, the police received a report of desecration of gravestones at a cemetery in the village of Boropaevo in the Penza Region. The police immediately arrived at the scene. In total, about 30 damaged gravestones were recorded.
The press service added that during operational and investigative activities, the possible involvement of a local 49-year-old man in the crime was established. While patrolling the rural border, he was detained and taken to the police station.
