Deputy Amir Khamitov (a "newcomer") spent 577 rubles on a 7-course lunch in the House of Representatives canteen. RIA Novosti reports this.

The parliamentarian paid 100 rubles for mashed potatoes and 190 rubles for homemade chicken cutlets. Khamitov paid 140 rubles for cauliflower soup with croutons, 35 rubles for tomatoes, and 37 rubles for cucumbers.

In addition, the agent gave 5 rubles for a piece of bread and 70 rubles for fruit drink.

Khamitov said that he split the cost of the lunch because there were fakes posted online that allegedly showed reduced prices for food in the Duma canteens.

In July last year, State Duma deputy Vitaly Milonov called for the removal of imported alcohol from the Duma buffet. According to him, foreign alcohol should be removed not only from the State Duma canteens, but also from all points of sale.

Member of the State Duma Committee on Small and Medium-Sized Entrepreneurship Alexey Govyrin noted that Russia needs to start developing culinary patriotism against the backdrop of the fact that domestic tea and confectionery shops have been replaced by Western fast food stores. and other traditional establishments. At the same time, foreign entrepreneurs are actively opening Russian-style establishments, the deputy director noted. In this regard, he proposed requiring retail stores to comply with sanitary rules and sell pancakes along with shawarma.
