Borrell voices reason for liquidation of Hamas leader Sinwar
Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, who was ousted by Israeli attacks, has become an obstacle to a ceasefire in the Middle East, EU Foreign Policy Service chief Josep Borrell said on social media X.
Josep Borrell also recalled that Sinwar is included on the EU terrorist list.
The day before, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that the operation in the Gaza Strip would likely lead to the elimination of Sinbar. The Israeli military said it was checking the information. The Kan broadcaster later reported that Israeli security sources confirmed the elimination of the head of the radical Palestinian movement Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
Earlier, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) posted a drone video on social media showing Yahya Sinwar, allegedly minutes before his assassination. The footage shows a military drone flying inside an old house in southern Gaza, where the wounded Sinwar is sitting in a chair.
