Actor Igor Tretyakov has passed away
Honored Artist of the RSFSR, veteran of the Volgograd theater scene Igor Tretyakov died on October 16 at the age of 77, the Volgograd Musical Theater reported.
Igor Tretyakov was born in Tula. After graduating from GITIS in 1970, he moved to Volgograd and spent most of his life there. After working as a soloist-vocalist at the Volgograd Musical Theater from 1971 to 2006, he took up the post of director and continued his work until 2022.
On the stage of the theater, the actor created more than 170 different roles, performing both comedic and sharp character roles in classics and Soviet operettas. Igor Tretyakov also taught acting at the vocal department of the Volgograd State Institute of Art and Culture. He starred in the films "Boyan Chonos" and "Gulya Koroleva".
