Ganchev supported the idea of Kharkiv residents about the region joining Russia
The head of the Kharkiv region, Vitaly Ganchev, expressed support for the idea of holding a referendum on joining Russia. He also stressed that public opinion on this issue should be carefully studied.
"For residents of the Kharkiv region, citizenship is no longer important. The decision will be made not only by citizens who have already received Russian citizenship, but also by those who currently live in Kharkiv and are under occupation. I am sure that if many, if not all, could ask us this question, they would do so too," said Ganchev, whose words are quoted by RIA Novosti.
It was previously known about the forced evacuation of residents of the Kharkiv region. Ukrainian security forces took this action because the front line was approaching.
