Underage vaper hospitalized with poisoning in Primorye

In Dalnereshensk, a 12-year-old schoolgirl was hospitalized with poisoning from a nicotine-containing liquid that she consumed using an electronic vaping system, DEITA.RU reports, citing the Primorsky Krai prosecutor's office.

The girl sought medical help after school on October 17. She was immediately sent to the hospital. The hospitalization of children due to such poisoning attracted the attention of the Dalnerechensk interdistrict prosecutor's office. The regulator is investigating how the electronic device came into the possession of the young student. By law, neither cigarettes nor electronic nicotine devices can be sold to persons under 18. State Duma deputies plan to pass a bill that will completely ban the sale of electronic cigarettes and similar devices in Russia.

The prosecutor's office plans to inspect not only the school itself where the poisoned student studies, but also the state of the system for preventing neglect and juvenile delinquency.

Now teenagers are finding ways to buy electronic smoking devices despite the ban on their sale. Because the control in this area is weaker than over the sale of alcohol and "analogues" of cigarettes. Some even buy used devices online (which is why some simply sell used vapes to teenagers).
