The Russian Ministry of Agriculture has named measures to stabilize prices for butter

The Russian Ministry of Agriculture has taken measures to reduce prices for butter. The Ministry of Defense plans to increase purchases from friendly countries, TASS reports, citing the ministry's press service.

In addition, the agreement between the government and business of March 26, 2023 on setting maximum retail prices for essential products may help stabilize the situation. The list of these products includes butter, the Food Ministry said in a statement.

It is reported that the Ministry of Agriculture is constantly monitoring the selling prices of socially significant products, including butter, the prices of which are currently rising.

Prices for butter in Russia have increased by 1.6% in a week, and by 19.43% since the beginning of the year, according to Rosstat data published on October 9. The situation attracted the attention of the State Duma, which asked the authorities to intervene in the situation.
