Grain quality decline in Novosibirsk region

Farmers in the Novosibirsk region reported a decrease in the share of grain suitable for bread production due to bad weather this year.

Most of the new wheat harvest will be used for feed. However, this year there are fewer buyers of Russian feed grain, BFM-Novosibirsk writes.

Agricultural enterprises in the region initially counted on high-quality grain, despite the protracted spring and late completion of sowing. But prolonged rains have further aggravated the situation. Sergey Sokolov, CEO of Novosibirskkhleboprodukt, noted that the overall quality of the harvested grain is low, and the demand for third-grade wheat is 13-14 thousand rubles per ton.

Experts note that export potential is declining as countries such as Turkey, Kazakhstan and China stop buying Russian grain. At the same time, the Vietnamese market is opening and the first deliveries are beginning.

Earlier, Sib.fm reported that the Dimitrovsky Bridge in Novosibirsk is completely open to traffic.
