A Sochi resident wanted to renew her contract with a mobile operator and lost almost 1 million rubles

Residents of Sochi lost almost 1 million rubles when renewing contracts with mobile operators.

To do this, the woman dictated the code in a text message over the phone. Then, a few minutes later, she received a call from the central bank, who assured her that they had previously spoken to the fraudsters who had gained access to her bank account.

In order not to lose his savings, the fraudster cashed 970 thousand rubles and transferred them to a “safe account,” which, as investigators later found out, belonged to an 18-year-old resident of Adygea.

The young man was detained. At that time, he handed over the stolen money to his accomplices and kept part of the compensation for himself. A criminal case was opened. The police, with the help of the detainees, are finding out who else the scammers deceived, the press service of the Sochi Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.

Let me remind you that earlier a resident of Novorossiysk decided to earn money in cryptocurrency and transferred 12 million rubles to scammers. The woman created an account and deposited money into her online account, hoping to make a big profit. When the victim tried to withdraw the "income", it turned out that the account was closed and the money could not be withdrawn.
