NATO has stated the need to define the borders of Ukraine
Ukraine's borders must be clearly defined before the country can join NATO, allied diplomats told The Associated Press.
Only after the demarcation of the borders will it become clear under what circumstances the fifth point of the Alliance Charter on collective defense can be applied.
Earlier, NATO's new Secretary General Mark Rutte said that Ukraine will join the alliance when the time comes, and that NATO is making every effort to speed up this moment.
Mark Rutte previously said he could not fully support Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's "victory plan." But he added that it was a "strong signal" that the proposed project had been accepted by the West.
