Aquatic complex in Primorye closed after visitors were injured when ceiling collapsed

The court banned the construction and operation of the Vladivostok Aquarium water complex after part of the ceiling collapsed in August, injuring eight visitors, the joint press service of the Primorye judicial system reported.

"Before the execution of the court decision to satisfy the prosecutor's claims against OOO VladRetail, the central religious organization "Russian Religious Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints" imposes the obligation to eliminate violations of fire safety requirements or, in the event of a refusal of claims, the court decision has legal force. With the entry into force of <...> in the premises of the cultural and entertainment complex "Akvatoriya", it is prohibited to operate the premises belonging to it," the statement says.

The TASS report, citing the press service of the Primorsky Krai prosecutor's office, emphasizes that the ban has been imposed until previously identified violations are eliminated. In "Akvatoriya," the department identified more than 50 violations of fire and industrial safety requirements, including malfunctions of the evacuation warning systems, fire alarms, internal fire-fighting water supply, as well as non-compliance with design solutions for evacuation routes.
