A man who had been drifting at sea for two months was rescued off the coast of Kamchatka

In early August, three tourists disappeared in Khabarovsk Krai. The boat was discovered by fishermen in the Sea of Okhotsk with one surviving and preserved body of a deceased relative.

Off the coast of Kamchatka, a fishing boat found an inflatable boat with tourists who had gone missing two months ago. Of the three, only one survived — his brother and 16-year-old nephew died — but the survivors kept their bodies. A video of the rescue was published by Kamchatka Life.

The boat was found in the Sea of Okhotsk near Ust-Khairuzovo. Since August 9, they have been looking for tourists to sail from Khabarovsk Krai to Sakhalin. Contact was lost, and they drifted at sea for 67 days.

Kamchatka Life sources said that the boat was discovered by accident. The crew of one of the supertrawlers saw the boat on radar, but at first thought it was a buoy or small debris.

A man and a 16-year-old teenager died on the boat, while the victim's 46-year-old brother and uncle survived. He lost 50 kg and saved the bodies of his loved ones. According to RT, the survivor's name is Mikhail Pikchugin, and he is currently in critical condition.

The Far Eastern Road Prosecutor's Office reported that the man was given first aid. A criminal case has been opened under Part 3 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code (in the event of the death of two or more people due to violation of traffic safety rules, violation of the operating mode of water transport, or negligence)

The rescue team sent four aircraft, including an An-74 aircraft belonging to the Russian Emergencies Ministry, to search for missing people in the Sea of Okhotsk, as previously reported by the head of the Khabarovsk Territory Department of Emergency Situations. The search was conducted in Khabarovsk Krai and on Sakhalin Island. In just two weeks, rescuers processed an area of more than 200,000 square meters. He was found several kilometers away in the Sea of Okhotsk, but no objects or boats were found.

As "KP Irkutsk" managed to find out, 46-year-old Mikhail Pichugin works a shift on Sakhalin. In my free time, I go to the sea to fish. He also likes hunting. The man is from the capital of Buryatia. In Ulan-Ude, his elderly mother, ex-wife and 12-year-old daughter are waiting for him.
