Migrants to leave for Korea: Consul General of Uzbekistan comments on ban on work in Primorye

Consul General of Uzbekistan in Primorsky Krai Yusup Kabulzhanov, who was present at the Logistics Forum, commented to DEITA.RU correspondents on the proposal to ban foreigners from working as taxi drivers, bus drivers and couriers in the region.

- Yusup Artykbaevich, what do you think about the draft resolution on restricting the work of foreigners under a patent of Primorsky Krai?

- Our position is this: We never interfere in the internal politics of the countries we are in. We work and build friendly relations in the economic, cultural and other spheres. Each region chooses its own policy. In addition, Russia does not interfere in the internal affairs of Uzbekistan.

- Statistics on this issue should be taken from the relevant departments (we are talking about the border service - Ed.). If they provide it to us, we will share it. However, we should not forget that in the Republic of Uzbekistan there are external labor migration agencies responsible for arrivals to other countries. A month ago, more than 900 citizens of our country were sent to work in medical institutions in Germany. "There is a great demand in Korea, but there are also great demands that we cannot satisfy," the diplomat concluded.

In addition to labor immigration from Uzbekistan, it is reported that about 100,000 people have been sent to Korea annually in recent years. The country itself has excellent specialists working in the construction industry.

Let us recall that last week the regional government invited Primorye residents to discuss the draft resolution of the Primorye governor banning foreigners from working with patents in 41 areas of economic activity. Among them are transport, transportation, petrochemicals, social rights, courier services, etc. Discussions of the draft are continuing on the regional portal for discussing lawsuits and will end on November 2.

Before the Covid era, some residents of Primorye also went to Korea to earn money. Then, some Russians were not even allowed to cross the border without a round-trip ticket. One of the advantages of Russian labor immigration to Korea was a temporary visa-free regime. And the main areas of income were agriculture or mistresses for girls.
