Residence permit for a diploma: The Ministry of Economic Development wants to simplify obtaining a residence permit for migrants

The Ministry of Economic Development has proposed simplifying the process of obtaining a residence permit for immigrants who have received an education in Russian technical schools and universities. According to Forbes, in order to obtain a residence permit after receiving a diploma, a foreigner must work in Russia at their place of work for at least six months, and the employer must pay the appropriate social contributions.
Today, the plan is at the stage of adoption of a law designed to improve the quality of migration flows to Russia. Currently, only foreigners who study full-time and graduate with honors from an educational institution can apply for a residence permit based on their studies.
