Voronezh resident transformed into a famous singer to win a popular show

Elena Kislova said that she had not been cast for eight years.

This fall, 32-year-old Elena Kislova from Voronezh appeared on the show "Brighter than Stars" (16+) on a federal channel. There, she transformed into Eva Polna, a famous singer and soloist of the group "Guests from the Future" and performed the song "Run from Me" on stage with two competitors. The episode aired on October 5. Last week, Elena returned from the capital to Voronezh, where journalists from "MOE!" We did not miss the opportunity to get to know the singer better and find out how she got into this project. We also know exactly why she tried on the image of Eva and what our compatriot lacked to get into the final.

From the ship to the ball, or more precisely, straight from the platform of the Voronezh railway station to the studio of "MOE! TV", Elena Kislova arrived early in the morning of October 12. Filming of her performance in the TV show "Brighter than the Stars", which she had always dreamed of, had finished in Moscow. We participated, but, unfortunately, our compatriots did not make it to the finals.

"I am very glad that we did not make it to the finals, although we did not advance further." Elena Kislova shared her feelings with us. - This is a very bright project and its name is not accidental. It was an incredible experience for me to be a part of it, and at the same time very difficult.

In the studio we learned that Elena is from Uzbekistan and was born in sunny Tashkent. Voronezh became her second home. Her family moved here 22 years ago. Elena loved music since childhood, but no one in her family was drawn to creativity as much as she was.

"I am the child of engineer parents," Elena says with a smile. "My mother is a surveying engineer, and my father is a geophysicist. And for the first time, I followed in their footsteps. I entered the geological faculty of Voronezh State University. No one forced me, I had wonderful parents, and they gave me a lot of freedom of choice. I decided for myself that I wanted to continue my father's business. Thanks to him, I received a lot of help during my studies. I studied as much as I could and went through all the stages to get a bachelor's, master's and postgraduate degree. And I also tried this job. If it weren't for my love for music, I probably wouldn't have become a super professional.

Elena says that the first signs of her love for music appeared when she was seven years old. The girl saw a piano and wanted to learn how to play it. Her mother supported her daughter's passion, and in the second grade she realized her wish by enrolling in music classes.

— I was drawn to classical music. I remember a funny story. When all the children asked for a toy for the New Year, I came and said: "Mom, Dad, give me a collection of Tchaikovsky." Elena laughs. "But this request really surprised them." At first they thought I was joking, but then they realized that this was my true desire, and, of course, they gave me this gift.

Elena began her professional music career in 2011. She received further education and devoted five years to academic vocals.

"I wanted to sing while having a stable job," says Elena. "I learned to play the piano and I'm good at it, but I couldn't sing on my own, so I started learning to sing.

Developing creatively, Elena says that she tried to audition for various competitions more than once, but only after several years did she reach the federal level.

"I've been trying to audition for about eight years," the singer said. "I took part in a competition, but I didn't get through. What I lacked, in my opinion, was a technical voice and courage. The show "Brighter than the Stars" was my first project. Last year I tried to participate in this show and it didn't work out, but this year I got lucky. I passed the casting!

Anyone can apply to participate in this project. According to our heroine, she indicated in her profile that she could transform into the singer Eva Polna. Elena Kislova performed in this image in the project "Brighter than the stars".

— Eva Polna is one of my favorite performers. I admire people who are not only singers, but also writers. It is worth it. After all, a person passes all creativity through himself, — says Elena Kislova. — For me, Eva Polna is a legend. She has been on stage for 25 years, and her music seems eternal. I do a little creative writing myself, it is very close to me.

According to Elena, the preparation for participation was very extensive. The girl trained for a long time, first in a studio in Voronezh, and then in Moscow. The team of show organizers includes teachers who help contestants prepare for their performances. Costumes, makeup - all this also falls on the shoulders of the show hosts.

"I went to the show with great excitement," he admits. "MINE!" Elena. - One of the reasons is that visually I am very different from the actors. This nuance is important for the show. I tried to count facial expressions and movements, but looking at the competitors, it seemed to me that they were closer to Eva Polna. Working with the voice is a little easier for me, but with plasticity, facial expressions and visual transformation is more difficult. So for me it was also a challenge.

The long-awaited appearance on stage became a big test for Elena Kislova. The girl admits that for the first time in her life she experienced wild excitement, which she had never experienced before.

"I'm not usually nervous because I have experience and have been working in this field for many years," says Elena. - I can say that since 2020 I have been completely immersed in music and creativity. But performing was a new environment for me. Although his voice did not tremble, something unexpected happened during his speech. My heart started pounding so hard that I could not hear the music in my headphones. I could not cope with this situation. Deep breathing did not help, there was nothing in my head. All I could hear was the loud, fast "thump-thump-thump" of my heart. It drowned out everything! I don't know how I finished singing. This is what the audience judges. But I lost to my opponent. Several factors played a complex role, and all the judges' votes went to the girl from Luhansk. However, there is no shame in not making it to the final.

According to MOESHNIK, Elena Kislova's performance as Eva Polna looked quite successful. The voice and tone are very similar to the original song. In our studio, Elena showed her talent. She sang in the voices of American singers Cher and Laura Pergolizzi (LP).

"I have been professionally involved in vocals and teaching vocals for several years, so I can parody some artists. This is also one of my areas of activity," explains Elena. - I understand perfectly how the vocal apparatus works and how it can be adjusted to a particular tone of voice. By the way, Eva Polna was one of the most difficult artists, since she worked more in oratorical positions. And for those who work with deeper or lighter sounds, it is easier to adjust the voice. Because where voices merge, style is more important. For example, Cher, Shakira, LP.

Elena says that she has many favorite artists, but she is most attracted to stars who were at the peak of their popularity in the 2000s.

“I grew up on the music of the 2000s, it inspired me a lot and left an imprint on my creative life,” says the singer.

And finally, I asked Elena about her dream.

"My dream is to build a stadium." The girl laughed. - What other dreams can an artist have?
