The Nobel Prize in Economics was awarded to Daron Acemoglu, Simon Johnson and James Robinson "for their work on how institutions are formed and affect well-being." Acemoglu and Robinson are the authors of the bestselling book Why Some Countries Are Rich and Poor. In it, they explained why societies without the rule of law and with systems that exploit their populations fail to grow and have little opportunity to change for the better. @bankrollo
