Preparations for the New Year have begun in Novosibirsk, but the fate of the traditional holiday fireworks display has not yet been decided.
In response to a request from the Atas.Info news agency, the mayor's office reported that there are currently no plans to hold fireworks on New Year's Eve.
At the same time, as Mayor Maxim Kudryavtsev noted, Lenin Street is planned to be closed for festive events from mid-November. It is expected that the traffic restrictions will last at least two months, and the final decision on fireworks has not yet been made.
