"Family Values" of "Rodina": "RG" held a presentation of a special issue dedicated to love, loyalty and the warmth of the parental home

There are two reasons. The first is the 145th anniversary of publication. The first issue was published in St. Petersburg in 1879. It was a family magazine that published stories and novels for children, household tips, recipes and food additives. In 1886, the magazine was acquired by a successful publisher, Alvin Caspary, and in five years the circulation increased from 200 to 40,000 copies. After his death, the business passed to his son Nikolai, who published the magazine until 1917.

Then there was a big break, after which a new era of record distribution began. The peak was 450,000 copies in 1990. A new milestone: since 2013, by presidential decree, the editorial board of Rodina was merged with Rossiyskaya Gazeta. The design, cover and font have changed.

Since this year, the publication has a new website - Rodina-istoriya.ru. Here you can read the text of the magazine, as well as subscribe. The site also presents news, reviews of historical films and books, exhibition announcements, comments from historians, tests and much more.

The second festive event was the presentation of the special issue “Family Values,” in which journalists from RG and Rodina collected personal stories from the 16th to 21st centuries about love, loyalty, and the warmth of the parental home. It was launched with the support of the Moscow Department of Media and Advertising.

Before that, there was another special issue. "Donbass is the heart of Russia" about the difficult relations between our country and Ukraine. "Pushkin is ours, that's all!" - About the most interesting things in the life and work of a genius. For the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Donbass, Kherson and Zaporizhia regions from the Nazi invaders, a special issue of "NMP: Our Great Patriotic War" was released. "Class Teacher" collected data on great teachers throughout the country.

The journalists took all five acts to the new Russian territory and presented them to teachers and librarians there. In September of this year, the expedition was accompanied by Andrey Reshetin, a famous musician from St. Petersburg, a former aquarist-violinist. In 2022, he volunteered for the front and wanted to fight, but the command decided to let him play creepy music and support our people. In six months, I gave 160 concerts with fellow artists!

The soul of the evening was old music performed by Andrey Reshetin and Irina Shneerova (harpsichord). It was launched by the editor-in-chief of "RG" Vladislav Fronin.

- What other publication contains such a large biography? - he asked. - Different eras, different teams, but they were all united by the creativity that permeated the magazine, from the cover to the final caption to the photo. And I also want to say this: there is journalism, and there is action. A trip to a new area is an act.

“We at Rodina write like ordinary people who live in times of change and experience the discomfort of existence,” recalls deputy editor-in-chief Semyon Ekshtut.

"Your special issue is useful and popular for us," she said. - Since this year, family studies subjects have appeared in all schools in the Kherson region. "Family Values" have become an excellent addition to the textbook. Thank you!

Then the music played by Reshetin and Shneerova began, and no more words were needed.
