Pashinyan: Armenia will take into account Russia's interests in transport flows in Transcaucasia

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that Russia's interests must be taken into account when implementing transport projects in the Caucasus. He said this at the party seminar "Civil Contracts", where the Yerevan project "Crossroads of the World" was discussed. Pashinyan explained that Russia may be concerned about the transit route, since it has important economic and political significance for Moscow.

He also noted that he believed Russia would agree to the project if it retained some influence in managing transport flows in the region, although he stressed that some Western countries oppose the route through Iran due to difficult relations with that country.

The Crossroads of the World project, which Armenia plans to implement jointly with Azerbaijan, Turkey and Georgia, is aimed at improving transport and other communications in the South Caucasus region.

Pashinyan and Putin reportedly agreed on joint security on the borders of Armenia, Iran and Turkey.

It was previously recorded that Armenia proposed that Azerbaijan sign a peace treaty before the UN climate conference.
