Yandex Taxi has announced its intention to change the fees for drivers. This was reported by the company's press service on Monday, October 14.
As noted by the company, economy fees will be reduced in most cities of the country. Since it is in great demand and is considered the most popular tariff, the cost of travel is growing faster than other classes, the aggregator reminded. According to Yandex Taxi representatives, the main reason for the increase in taxi prices remains the shortage of drivers. In September, the company already warned that the shortage of personnel would lead to an increase in prices, especially at the end of the year and during periods of peak demand for rides. The aggregator's analysts predict that by the end of this year, the shortage of taxi drivers in the country will reach 130 thousand.

According to him, the imbalance between supply and demand has become especially evident in recent years. The number of drivers continues to decline, while demand for economical trips continues to grow, which is reflected in prices, market participants summarize.
It is also planned to simplify payment for drivers by the end of this year. This involves the start of a detailed calculation of driver income and depreciation, as well as a change in the amount of remuneration.
"All tariff increases in the city will be subject to the same commission. Using the same fee will make it easier for drivers to combine different tariffs and calculate their income. The St. Petersburg administration expects a significant increase in the number of legal taxi drivers in the northern capital in 2024.
