In Leningrad Oblast, funds for the holidays will be redirected to the needs of the military operation
Funds allocated for social and cultural events are used to support military operations. Business trips for civil servants are also being reduced. In the summer, the region increased payments for signing contracts.
In the Leningrad Region, a decision has been made to reduce the amount of funds allocated for concerts, forums and other social and cultural events and to direct them to support military operations, said the region's governor, Alexander Drozdenko.
"I have instructed department heads and committee heads to support the Northern Military District by making proposals for the redistribution of vacation and leave funds," he wrote on Telegram.
Drozdenko also ordered to reduce business trips of regional administration employees, for example, if they talk about participating in forums and conferences where officials do not speak. This does not apply to trips related to signing documents or mandatory representation of the Leningrad Region.
He noted that it would be advisable for local authorities to take similar measures.
In August, the Leningrad Region increased one-time payments for contracts with the Ministry of Defense. The total amount is 2.1 million rubles. This includes regional payments of 1.3 million rubles and federal payments of 400 thousand rubles and a land certificate for the same amount (which can be exchanged for land or money upon completion of service).
The region followed St. Petersburg in increasing payments. They also pay a one-time payment of 2.1 million rubles, of which 1.7 million rubles are local payments.
Svetlana Enilina, head of the St. Petersburg government's finance committee, reported on October 14 that an additional 4 billion rubles have been included in the city's budget this year. Payments are being made to those who have contracts with the Defense Ministry.
In total, the expenditure item for combatants increased by 5.1 billion rubles. — Another 1.1 billion rubles. Benefits go directly to the families of military personnel.
