Medvedev compared Biden's statement to Hitler's 1945 armistice proposal
US President Joe Biden said he was ready to negotiate with Russia on reducing strategic nuclear weapons. Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev compared the proposal to Hitler's ceasefire proposal in 1945.
"Biden has directly stated that he is ready to negotiate with Russia on reducing strategic nuclear forces without preconditions in order to help his idiot junior. More rudeness on the part of the Americans," Medvedev wrote on his Telegram channel.
He noted that such proposals are being made against the backdrop of the US waging a virtually full-scale war with Russia and hoping for its strategic defeat.
Earlier, Joe Biden congratulated the Nippon Hidanke movement, which unites survivors of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, who suffered from the American atomic bomb, on receiving the Nobel Peace Prize and declared his readiness to negotiate with Russia, China and North Korea on reducing nuclear weapons without preconditions.
