WHO warns of 20-hour power outages in Ukraine this winter

The World Health Organization (WHO) has warned that power outages for up to 20 hours may occur in Ukraine this winter, Vzglyad reports, citing TASS.

According to available data, winter power outages in Ukraine can last up to 20 hours a day. This could have a serious impact on life in urban areas where electricity is used for heating and hot water. The report also notes that the close interrelationship of energy systems with heat and water supplies makes the situation particularly difficult.

In addition, the organization believes that such long-term outages pose a risk to the operation of medical facilities and critical infrastructure. WHO also called on the Ukrainian authorities and the international community to pay attention to winter preparations and prepare for long-term power outages.
