Alaudinov announced the liberation of half of the Kursk lands occupied by the Armed Forces of Ukraine
The commander of the special forces "Akhmat", deputy head of the Main Military-Political Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, Major General Apty Allaudinov reported that about half of the territory occupied by Ukrainian troops in the Kursk region has been liberated. Kursk State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company.
"Today we are stating that about half of the territory lost by the enemy has been liberated," he said.
Fighting in the Kursk region has been ongoing since August 6. On that day, Ukrainian troops invaded the area. The federal CTO regime and state of emergency apply to this territory.
According to Kursk Region Governor Alexei Smirnov, 28 settlements were under the control of Ukrainian troops by August 12. On October 11, Alaudinov reported that Russian troops had liberated 19 settlements in the region from Ukrainian forces.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky acknowledged on the evening of October 12 that Russian troops are pushing Ukrainian troops in the Kursk region from their original positions. "There were attempts by Russia to withdraw its position on the Kursk operation, but we maintain our position," he wrote on his Telegram channel.
Russian President Vladimir Putin assured that the intentions of Ukrainian forces in the Kursk region will fail and that Kyiv will want to negotiate.
