Frenchman Laurent Vinatier* sentenced to three years in prison
The Zamoskvoretsky District Court of Moscow found French citizen Laurent Vinatier* guilty of evading the duties of a foreign agent and sentenced him to three years in prison. This was reported by a REN TV correspondent in court.
"The court found Vinatier guilty and sentenced him to three years in a general regime penal colony," the judge said.
The press service of the Moscow prosecutor's office reported that an employee of a foreign non-governmental non-profit organization (NPO) Vinatier had failed to comply with the requirements of Russian legislation to provide information to competent authorities for several years. Recall that the prosecution, taking into account French's admission of guilt and remorse, sentenced the defendant to three years and three months in prison. Vinatier's lawyer asked the judge to limit the sentence to a fine.
